Dan Halliday
“I help our amazing fundraisers raise the money that keeps the hospice doors open.”
Fundraiser Dan’s journey to working for Claire House began in 2008, when he completed a charity walk up Mount Toubkal in Morocco.
It was a life-changing trip – not only did he meet his future wife up Mount Toubkal, but the hike persuaded Dan to leave his private sector marketing job and move into the charity sector.
He has now been with Claire House for over 5 years, travelling around the region working with high street shops, businesses and groups who want to help Claire House.
He says: “No two days are ever the same in my job and I love that but what I love most about working for Claire House is really knowing you are making a difference to people’s lives.
“One of the parts of my job is supporting families with children at Claire House when they are fundraising and I love getting to know the families and what it means to them.
“I feel honoured that the families are willing to tell me their most personal things about their children, and it means I can go out and tell people ‘this is how your support affects local families and what it means to them’.”
