Claire House would like to thank everyone who has supported their Heswall, Milner Road charity shop over the last few years.
The charity has made the difficult decision to close the charity shop as of the 9th October 2021.
The reason this decision has been made is due to a number of factors; mainly that the shop is no longer fit for purpose and not making the level of income we require to help the children and families.
Gillian Nove, Director of Income Generation at Claire House, said: “The high street has changed drastically during the pandemic. As a charity, every penny counts and if there are areas of the organisation that are being less effective than others, we need to look at these objectively and make the changes required, however difficult.
“Our team at Milner Road are champions for the charity and the effect that has on the hospice and surrounding areas is not to be under-estimated. This is obviously upsetting for all affected by this decision and we will be doing our utmost to make this process as smooth as possible for everyone concerned.”
