For the second year running, Claire House supporter Judy Baigent and her friend Debbie Griffin organised the ’10 Miles, 10 Pubs’ walk in support of Claire House and Maggie’s Merseyside.
The idea is quite simple really. Participants take on a 10-mile, starting and finishing at The Three Stags in Spital, calling in at another 9 pubs throughout the walk. It was £10 to enter, and every walker was encouraged to raise sponsorship for the two local charities.
Stops along the walk included Claremont Farm, The Red Fox, and The Acorn, with each venue providing complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments for all walkers. Cheers! The Travellers Rest in Higher Bebington also provided lunch while La Luce Del Sole in Bebington provided garlic bread! Yum!
The event first took place in February 2018, and this year around 100 walkers took part, taking in the beautiful Wirral scenery between each of the pubs.
Judy, who has raised over £35,000 for Claire House in the last five years, said: “The 10 Miles, 10 Pubs Walk is a great, simple fundraising idea and everyone seems to love it. It’s lovely to organise this with my friend Debbie, who has been supported by Maggie’s Merseyside, and it’s great to raise vital funds for two very important local charities.”
Thank you to all of the amazing walkers!
